Individual Counseling
Anxiety
Anxiety Counseling focuses on persons dealing with anxiety in various forms. Anxiety can be defined as the response of an individual to a threat, real or imagined. Chronic anxiety however is excessive, irrational, and debilitating and can interfere with our overall quality of life.
When anxiety interferes with our ability to function in daily life, work, school and in our relationships, it becomes chronic. While some amount of anxiety is part of being alive, if worries and fears are preventing you from living your life, it is good to get some help.
Depression
Depression Counseling - everybody gets the blues from time to time and sometimes for no apparent reason at all. This is normal but quite different from what mental health professionals mean when they say depression. Clinical Depression is a serious problem that you do not want to put off and get the help if you need it.
You should never be afraid to reach out when you think that you might be depressed. If you were feeling depressed for more than a day or two it may be important to find a therapist. Symptoms of depression include feelings of sadness, hopelessness, fatigue, anxiety, loss of interest in activities, and change and sleep and appetite.
Anger Management
Anger Management - anger is a valid emotion. Everyone gets angry from time to time, and it is OK to express these feelings in a respectful manner. Anger is a strong feeling of displeasure and a secondary emotion. It is often a reaction to stress, failure, or injustice.
Anger can range from mild irritation to full-blown rage. It becomes an issue when you are getting angry a lot of the time, cannot seem to control your temper and it leads to regular aggression or violence. Anger has its risks perhaps more than any other emotion.
Family/Family Conflict
Family/Family Conflict - are you dealing with past resentments that are preventing you from having a positive relationship? Do you feel tense, have anxiety and dread when you know you are going to have conversations with your family?
Do the conversations you have feel conflicted and leave you wondering if you could ever have a decent conversation that does not end up in an argument? Have you gotten to the point where you are not communicating as a family at all?
Spiritual Awareness
Spiritual Awareness – in spiritual awareness we look at the health in your spirit.
Sometimes people struggling with spiritual awareness might feel empty or feel as though life lacks meaning, often feel anxious or unsettled, often feel as if they need to improve themselves, feel unconcerned or uncaring about life, judge themselves and others quickly and or harshly, find self compassion and self forgiveness difficult, lack a sense of inner peace and lack a sense of belonging.
